Jakarta, Indonesia - In the most recent Litbang Kompas 2024 Indonesian elections electability polls, Ganjar Pranowo takes the lead in a three way race with Prabowo and Anies, edging at 29,6% of the votes based on the samples used by Litbang Kompas. Prabowo Subianto comes second, polling at 27,8%, while Anies Baswedan remains third with a polling of 15,6%.

As of now, the race seems to be a close match between Prabowo and Ganjar, with Ganjar only slightly edging over Prabowo. Note that the simulation involved 10 names, including figures such as Ridwan Kamil, Agus Yudhoyono, Erick Thohir, Puan Maharani, Mahfud MD, Sandiaga Uno, and other politicians with no current intention of running for the presidency.

In a simulation involving three names, Ganjar Pranowo polled at 34%, Prabowo Subianto polled at 31,3%, and Anies polled at 19,2%. Still, even in the three way race simulation, Ganjar Pranowo’s lead over Prabowo Subianto is one with very tight margins - leaving behind Anies Baswedan squarely in third place in the polls.

This recent poll shows an increase for Ganjar Pranowo, raising his level of support nationally. Besides Litbang Kompas, the Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) polling has also placed Ganjar Pranowo at the top spot. However, it is important to note that these are not the only polling stations - and some other polling organisations show Prabowo Subianto on top. However, in all of these polls, the difference between the polling of Ganjar Pranowo and Prabowo Subianto is one with very thin margins, possibly indicating a close race this election season.

With that being said, the election is still anyone’s game. It is not out of the possibility that a candidate would experience a rebound or even a drop in the polls. As the election’s official campaigning season starts on the 28th of November, candidates still possess the potential to make manoeuvres to increase their electability. Until Saint Valentine’s Day 2024, which happens to coincide with the election date, it is likely that the polls will remain dynamic.
